In Taiwan, most residential units have very close proximity between households. Additionally, with the entrance doors often located next to emergency staircases in older houses, residents are often troubled by the constant conversations and footsteps of people passing by.
One issue with the cat’s eye peephole on the interior door of the double entrance is the insufficient lighting, making it difficult to see clearly. To address this concern, as per the homeowner’s request, a small hole was preserved in the frame to accommodate a small light that illuminates the face of the visitor in front of the peephole.
Decorative strips were added to both the upper and lower parts of the interior door’s double-sided woodgrain panel, adding a touch of masculine ancient Roman aesthetics. This demonstrates the homeowner’s preference for a combination of different materials in their style. The handle was also carefully selected to match the same color scheme, using a titanium-plated handle that won’t fade even with prolonged use, maintaining its shine and appeal.
