【H3 Lake Reflection Teak】Taoyuan Shu House

Portfolio introduction

desciption

This project is located in a self-built residence in Taoyuan. During the exterior planning phase, the homeowner visited LAMINAM and immediately fell in love with their exclusive design, “Lake Reflection.” The primary attraction was the use of solid Myanmar teak wood for the surface material, which imparts a natural and vibrant vitality.

In Taiwan’s humid climate, wood with vitality can experience expansion and contraction issues. Therefore, the selection of wood species suitable for outdoor use is limited. Currently, LAMINAM recommends only Myanmar teak wood and Taiwanese hinoki cypress for outdoor placement due to their rich oil content and higher stability. LAMINAM hopes that customers can enjoy long-lasting use.

Taking into account the homeowner’s desire for a private environment, the Italian CISA five-point lock was specifically chosen to enhance security. The overall design adopts a Japanese style, which means the roof does not provide extensive coverage. LAMINAM recommends using outward-opening doors to prevent water seepage during heavy rain, eliminating concerns about moisture entering the interior, particularly during typhoon seasons.
